Had an interesting day. Fixing to wind down with a 4 hour dose of the opening ceremony of the Olympics. Hooked up my surround sound, popped the popcorn, & I'm ready to go. Neighbors will just have to deal.
Today I took the MPRE which is an ethics exam that all attorneys must pass before they can practice. Was supposed to take it in March but that session was cancelled after a blizzard came through. I thought I knew the rules but every question had 2 answers that were highly plausible. So way I see it, I'll either get everything right or I'll fail the exam with flying colors. What a nightmare.
I bought a $1 scratch-off and won $2 (I never win anything from scratch-offs). And then I parked in one of the garages at school & when I went to exit, the gate just opened without me having to pay. That calls for the purchase of a lotto ticket. Only when consecutive mundane "lucky" things like these happen do I buy lotto tickets. I figure since I'm on a roll, maybe a few million dollars is in the cards. Hasn't quite worked out that way yet but one can dream.
One last thing: my friend, we'll call her "X" moved into my apartment complex a week ago thanks to my rave reviews about them. Now she's my neighbor about 4 doors down. So me & my other friend, we'll call her "Z," were joking about X coming to my place to borrow sugar, asking for a ride to school, sleepovers, and other bothersome things now that we were practically next door neighbors. Turns out we were not too off with our predictions. Got a call from X wanting to come over to visit on Tue. This was at 9pm. Then on Wed night, she called wanting me to go pick up keys from her house & keep them till Fri for her sister because she was going to be out of town till then. Was worried somebody would pick them up from under her mat. Keep in mind her apartment is still empty. Nothing to steal. Moral of this story: I'm done picking up her calls. Don't even care if she comes knocking on my door and its obvious I'm home. It's my duty to educate her on the cardinal rule of neighborhood etiquette: thou shall not disturb your neighbor.
Update: China put on one heck of an olympic show. Outstanding!
