With my civ pro class that is. Only my classmates can relate to what it feels like to have this class end. Every morning, 8:40-9:50am, M-W, I would go to class nervous as heck hoping I don't get called on. By the end of the semester, even the few gunners we had had been reduced to mere mortals. Getting shot down in humiliating fashion tends to make people second guess themselves really fast. Anyhoo, it's all a bad memory now. Well not quite because the exam still lurks.
He was really nice today though: told us that grades don't make who we are (this was right after telling us he gives one of the hardest exams in the school); to not try and change the world just our communities by doing things like volunteering (since none of us are likely to become president); and he gave us advice of what elective classes we should take in our 2nd or 3rd years like civ pro II which he teaches (but he told us not to take it with him if we think he's an S.O.B. because he doesn't want to hear us whining).
How well I do on his exam will determine whether or not I retake him for another class. The fact that I'm even entertaining the thought of another stress-inducing semester with him is mind-boggling to me too. Great Prof though.
